And So It Begins

And So It Begins

Yesterday in D.C., cries for a Presidential Impeachment could be heard far and above the typical whispers that have until now surrounded the Downing Street Memo and supporting evidence.

Yesterday, on June 16th, Rep. John Conyers, House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member, chairs a meeting on the Downing Street Memo and pre-Iraq War intelligence. Witnesses include: former ambassador Joe Wilson, CIA analyst Ray McGovern, Cindy Sheehan, mother of fallen American soldier, and constitutional lawyer John Bonifaz.

To get a feel for this dramatic hearing, listen to a portion of
Ray McGovern's opening statement outlining this "anatomy of a lie".

Also,
visit this video clip of Rep. John Conyers, Rep. Maxine Waters, Cindy Sheehan, and others, lashing out at President George W. Bush, and his lies, that maneuvered the country into the Iraqi War. The rally was held after the hearing on June 16, 2005, at Lafayette Park, in Washington, D.C.

The hearing examined the question of whether there is good cause to investigate possible impeachable offenses by the President in his justification of the war. It was quite an enormous achievement considering the stonewalling on this issue. Thanks to Republican denial, the hearing was held in a tiny room of the Capitol Basement. Despite the cramped quarters, dozens of Democratic Representatives showed up (122 signed on to Conyers' letter), but only about 10 could make it into the room at any one time, so they came in shifts. In an attempt to quiet this call for the truth, Republicans:

  • Refused to call a full hearing themselves
  • Refused to give Democrats a room to hold their hearing
  • Scheduled a number of votes timed to intentionally disrupt the Conyers' Hearings. (At approximately 2:15 PM, with hearing scheduled to begin at 2:30, the Republicans scheduled 11 consecutive floor votes, lasting until approximately 4 PM.)

There appears to be an ominous storm brewing over the Presidency and its withering justification for this war.

Truth seekers are growing in number, strength, and determination.

You're dreaming.....

Have fun with it, but when you wake up, there still won't be a lib in the White House..quit whining and support your country.
PS. Bush bashing and whining is not supporting your country!

LOL. Good grief...WHEN will the right come up with something different. I hear nothing from them but "quit whining". And I have news for you...."die for a lie" is NOT by any means supporting your country. Demanding the truth is an American responsibility. One you clearly do not wish to take on.

PS...

I don't suppose you have any REAL defense for the evidence surfacing against your president....right?

MadAdmin....I second that!

Paradigm Shifter...thank you so much for pointing me toward BBA. I had not been there before, I can't believe it. I joined and have been going thru the entire site. I love it, thank you again.

Regarding the picture...I never let my orientation dictate how or by what I am emotionally moved. This image said freedom of expression to me, I think it is just beautiful.

There is no "latest" that indicates the memo is a scam. You would be the one making something up.

The authenticity of the memo has not been disputed - even by the authors of the memo!

I will say to you what I have said before on this issue. By all means, present a real defense for this memo and I certaily will give it all my attention, but I am not going to leap into Bush'ese' fantasy land and subscribe to the only explanation the pubs have offered - which amounts to "NUH UHHH"

Great post. A question to those who defy it...if the memo is such a farce, why would the GOP go to so much trouble to disrupt the hearing surrounding it by banishing the Dems to the basement and holding simultaneous hearings? Hmmm?
