There is Spin, There is Creative License and then There is Rewriting History
Well, tonight is the night. We will see just how far out on the fantasy land limb ABC and the powers behind "The Path To 9-11" are willing to go. Well, some of you all will see it anyway, I won't as the "Manning Bowl" starts tonight at 8:15pm and I wouldn't channel surf off that game if someone drove a poker through my TV remote hand.
So, it would appear ABC opted for a few very minor changes to the over-hyped docu-dupe. If what I understand the changes to be are the only ones made, it hardly amounts to enough to elevate the work from an outrageous falsification to the right's creative version of events.
This should be simple for ABC, get every single detail, word, syllable, inflection and conclusion of the 9-11 commission report dead-on accurate or call it fiction and do what you want. There is no in between. In between is nothing but an attempt to paint a lie as the truth.
Written and produced by conservative activist Cyrus Nowrasteh, this work falls dreadfully short of "an objective telling of the events of 9/11". Nowrasteh claims he "wanted to match the just-the-facts tone of the report". In a recent interview Nowrasteh calls "The Path to 9/11" "a terror thriller as well as a history lesson." Nowrasteh and ABC have represented "The Path to 9/11" as an unbiased historical drama based on the 9/11 Commission Report. You can't make these claims and then alter the facts - not even a little. And not even in the interest of "dramatization".
