The 2006 Weblog Awards - Finalists

I have to admit, this is all pretty exciting. This is the first year I have really gotten myself out there for the Weblog Awards. It has been a lot of fun and it has introduced me to a number of very impressive blogs I had not previously been familiar with.

I want to thank those who nominated me in several categories. And of course, I want to thank the Weblog Award Judges who included me in the finalists for Best Centrist Blog. There, I am truly in admirable company.

Voting for the winners begins on Thursday, December 7th. I hope you all do head over to the
Weblog Awards, visit the finalists and cast a vote. You will see a combined total of 450 finalists across 45 categories - a plethora of exciting blogs to revisit or get to know. I have to make particular note of a few blog finalists who are simply not to be missed and are so deserving of this year's Weblog Award.

In my category, Best Centrist Blog

My good friend and Centrist Extraordinaire,
The Gun Toting Liberal. If you know him, then head on over and cast your vote. If you have not yet visited him, please do. You'll become a regular there I am sure. GLT is left leaning with a centrist mentality. He draws and welcomes an eclectic mixture of voices. It's great fun. My warmest kudos and congratulations to my friend, Gun Toting Liberal.

Best Individual Blog

The Anchoress - An exquisite writer with such an interesting perspective. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know the blog and the blogger.

Best Liberal Blog

Bring It On! - I love that Ken Grandlund of Common Sense is offering his brilliance there regularly which adds even more to an already great community of Liberal bloggers.

Best Conservative Blog

Ace of Spades - I've said it before, I'll say it again. For me, Ace makes "Conservative" irresistible. He has a satirical sense of humor and writing style that is unmatched. This is hard-hitting, fast, hysterical, intellectual and not to be missed.

Best of the Ecosystem Top 250 Blogs

My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy - Beth at MVRWC is simply at the top of the right blogosphere with a take no prisoners approach to politics and blogging. She's remarkable. I can tell you, this centrist/liberal is a huge fan!

Many thanks to the
Weblog Awards team. This must be an enormous and daunting undertaking. We applaud your work.

WOW, thanks for all the nice "KUDOS", my buddette!!! I'm so humbled by all of this, TRULY humbled.

As for your faves in the other categories, I agree with you 100%! Ace, Beth, Bring It On - ALL daily "must reads", as is C'est Moi!!!

How FUN! Thanks again, Megan :-)

Congrats and good luck. :)

I'm up for Best Diarist, against Dooce and some other major blogs. I'm totally going to be beat, but it's cool just to be a finalist, ya know?

Well Gennie, I know what it's like....I am getting smoked! But it is cool to be a finalist. I have been having so much fun these past few days. Dooce is a biggie, but you hang in there!! I will give you votes until they close! Good Luck!

Thank you, thank you! Now you see?....as a result of this you and I will likely be visiting each other on a regular basis.

New blogging friends, that's what it's all about.

(but I still really hope I break 100 votes! lol)

I'm out of touch. I've never been to any of those blogs. :-(
